Well, as you can probably see, I have abandoned traditional art in favor of 3D render. I realize some people don't recognize 3D renders as art and that is fine. I have left traditional art for reasons that are my own much like film has been left behind for digital. Before I discovered this art form....or at least the behind the scenes of how a render work is created, I looked at this as some sort of videogame character creator (which it can be used for). There were so many works featuring impossibly proportioned women sitting around for the whole purpose of looking pretty. I saw very few "photoreal" type works and so didn't seriously consider 3D. I would say in the last year or so I have seen some truly breathtaking 3D renders and I thought to myself, I have to look into how I can use this in my quest for realism. I began working with DAZ Studio 4 Standard then recently the Pro. In the beginning, I had absolutely no clue how to work the lighting, posing, texturing, pretty much everything. I used the Genesis base Mat and V4 base to begin with and had some pretty crappy looking, flat, smooth, boring renders. I nearly gave it up because I wasn't getting anywhere. Then I began digging into the mechanics of DAZ Studio and trying out poses, lighting, texturing etc. The renders got better with time as I gained a better understanding of how light, shadow and render settings worked. I picked up a variety of textures and began putting together very basic scenes. Then I discovered how to manipulate texture settings and even how to create my own textures. I discovered how to use Omnifreaker's UberEnvironment 2, UberSurface and the Elite Human Surface Shader. The level of realism has slowly increased to where I am today creating renders in my designed Reflective Studio setup.
What's next......it has to be the Realism 2.0 plugin for DAZ to export my render models into LuxRender. I sit in awe and jealosy looking at the level of realism that can be attained in LuxRender. Until I take the plunge to purchase the Reality plugin I will continue to improve lighting, surfaces and textures with what I have.
Any tips on SSS of skin and the optimal settings in the EHSS would be greatly appreciated.

What a beautiful gallery. I like the way, you are playing in the same scene with different camera positions and reflections of the surrounding materials. And your drawings are simply awesome.
Thanks so much Sabine! I have admired your gallery as well, some beautiful works. Most of my works are still experiments...I haven't mastered all the realism of the human form yet so I play around with different poses and lighting alot. As for drawing.....digital killed the graphite. Probably not going back. Thank you again for your kind words.
It's my pleasure. Unfortunately I am totally untalented according to any kind of hand drawing, but luckily I found the digital art to express myself. And so I can understand you very well with your decision for digital art. Many thanks to you for the watch and have this was very much appreciated.
